Suggested Diet For Your Weight Loss

I hope this is useful for your weight loss, rather than causing panic. A large portion of our country’s meat, chicken, and dairy products contain foreign estrogens that are used by farmers for profit and at the expense of our health. In addition, pesticide residues and many other petrochemical compounds with estrogenic properties are consumed in the food that is given to these animals and are subsequently concentrated in the milk and fat of the meat.

These harmful estrogens are then deposited in our fatty tissues and on estrogen and progesterone receptors where they are known to interfere in the proper utilization and production of natural progesterone & natural estrogen and have been implicated in promoting other more serious health problems such as fibrocystic breast disease and breast cancer. There are, however, “good” estrogens available in our food supply. By replacing animal proteins with saponin rich plant foods such as soy products we can introduce phytoestrogens (genistein), which have a higher affinity for estrogen receptors than “bad” estrogens and have been demonstrated to have protective influences against Endometrial & breast cancer.

Other Important Considerations include:

* Eliminate commercially grown meat, poultry & dairy (replace with Soy Products {Tofu}, Fish, or free-range organically grown animal meats and dairy)
* Consume more cold water fish and legumes for protein (or protein powder)
* Replace personal care products that contain petro-chemicals with those that are formulated with plant materials
* Avoid Hydrogenated fats and oils as they convert to Trans-Fatty Acids which increase breast cancer risk
* Eliminate completely artificial sweeteners and tobacco products
* Eliminate or reduce consumption of caffeine, alcohol, high fat dairy, and chocolate
* Read the following information on fiber
* Reduce consumption of simple sugars (they promote sharp blood sugar fluctuations)
* Increase cruciferous & dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, and whole grains (Organic if possible)
* Increase complex carbohydrates to 70% of daily caloric intake
* Consume low quantities of protein in the evening
* Consume smaller, more frequent meals or snacks
* Never go more than 4 hours during any day or 12 hours overnight without food
* Drink plenty of water (preferably distilled). 8 glasses daily. Fluid restriction can be harmful.
* Supplement with a properly formulated calcium formula
* Exercise (30-40 minutes four or five days per week)
* Laugh frequently! (preferably with your mate)
* Learn to successfully manage stress
* Replace Traditional Western Recipes with Soy and other Health Promoting Recipes

Don’t shop when you’re hungry. You’ll only buy more fattening food. Avoid finger foods that are easy to eat in large amounts. Avoid consuming large quantities of fattening liquids, which are so easy to overdo. And this includes alcoholic beverages. Keep plenty of crunchy foods like raw vegetables and air-popped fat-free popcorn on hand. They’re high in fiber, satisfying and filling. Leave something on your plate, even if you are a charter member of the Clean The Plate Club. It’s a good sign that you can stop eating when you want to, not just when your plate is empty.

Lose weight for yourself, not to please your husband, your parents or your friends. Make the kitchen off-limits at any time other than mealtime. Always eat at the table, never in front of the TV set or with the radio on. Concentrate on eating every mouthful slowly and savoring each morsel. Chew everything from 10 to 20 times and count! Never skip meals.

10 Second Health Tips

1. Tea off in the morning. Hot tea can slash your risk of kidney cancer by 15 percent, according to a review in the International Journal of Cancer. Replace your battery acid with a cup of rooibos first thing in the morning.

2. Sleep smarter. Too much sleep, or not enough of it, can kill you. A British study found that getting more than nine hours of sack time a night, or less than six, doubles your risk of an early death from any cause. Aim for seven to eight hours a night.

3. Pop in your lenses post-shower. Soaping up while wearing your contacts can expose your eyes to infection-causing waterborne microbes, say University of Illinois at Chicago researchers.

4. Drink wine, stay lean. Polyphenols, the compounds found in red wine, help your body block fat absorption, an Israeli study found. Red-wine marinades work, too.

5. Lose the lint. Taking two seconds to empty the lint trap in your clothes dryer can prevent you from being a dryer-fire victim. No jokes, it happens to 315 people in the US each year.

6. Check your neck. An American Journal of Medicine study found that a mildly under-active thyroid can boost your heart-disease risk by 65 percent. A quick blood test can assess your level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).

7. Stretch it out. Genes in your body linked to heart disease, diabetes and obesity can be ‘turned on’ if you sit for hours on end, reports a study in Diabetes. Hit the ‘off’ button by taking hourly laps during TV, book and Web sessions.

8. Steam your broccoli. Italian researchers recently discovered that steaming broccoli increases its concentration of glucosi-nolates (compounds found to fight cancer) by 30 percent. Boiling actually lowers the levels.

9. Skip the spray. Using household spray cleaners just once a week increases your risk of an asthma attack by 76 percent, say Spanish researchers. Use wipes instead.

10. Boost your defenses. An Archives of Internal Medicine review reports that 400IU of vitamin D a day reduces your risk of an early death by seven percent.

11. Scent your air safely. Some air fresheners contain phthalates, compounds that may disrupt hormone processes, Natural Resources Defense Council testing reveals. Check the labels carefully.

12. Lean back. Parking your torso at a 90-degree angle strains your spine, say Scottish and Canadian researchers. Instead, recline the seat back slightly. The ideal angle is 45 degrees off vertical.

What Are The Benefits Of Losing Weight?

If it isn’t already obvious to you, there is a tremendous amount of benefits you can take advantage of by losing weight and although losing weight might not always be easy the long term effects brought on by weight loss could easily make anyone consider weight loss! The following points are a few major advantages you can look forward to with losing weight. of course some of these may be higher up on the “totem pole” for you, but all in all this is just so you can get a good idea of the positives available!

Weight loss is a huge prevention for keeping high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke at bay. It’s a well-known fact that being over weight can lead to many complications including these three “diseases”. These are prominent in both men and women, so it’s not like just because you are a wo(man) you wont be effected by being overweight; because you will! Individuals who are overweight have a higher risk to have high levels of cholesterol in their blood stream as well as triglycerides (also known as blood fat).

Angina which is a type of heart disease causes chest pains as well as a decrease of oxygen pumped into the chest and to the heart. Sudden death can also occur from having heart disease, stroke or heart attack and in a lot of cases the problems aren’t even prevalent and can happen with no warning signs! It’s a simple fact that losing 5 to 10 pounds could decrease the chances of you developing or having heart problems.

How about diabetes? Did you know that by being over weight or obese you are putting your life in jeopardy for diabetes? Did you also know that an overweight person is more than 3 times more susceptible to diabetes than a healthier person? Now that’s some scary stuff! if you already have diabetes you may be thinking “well I already have it and I’m already over weight, whats the point?” Well there is a point! Regular exercise and losing weight has been linked to controlling your blood sugar levels and could possibly lead to you not having to even be on medication! Exercising doesn’t mean having to kill yourself on 20 mile runs. It means increasing your physical activity more than what it’s at right now. If your sedentary, then you need to become more active!

The risk for cancer especially in the gallbladder, ovaries, breast and colon; for women is especially common. And for men? Colon, prostate and rectum! Extra weight, a diet high in fat and cholesterol should as much as possible be avoided. People that are overweight have really been linked to being more susceptible to cancer, it’s true! Of course there are earlier studies done but, in 1985 a study by PubMed was done and the recourse was stated below:

“The study included 750,000 men and women followed for 12 years. Each person was given a weight index. Death rates for overweight and underweight persons were compared with rates for persons of average weight. Men who were 40% or more overweight had a mortality ratio for cancer of 1.33; women, 1.55. This ratio was much lower than that for coronary heart disease (men, 1.95; and women, 2.07); diabetes (5.19 and 7.90), and digestive diseases (3.99 and 2.29). Overweight men had significantly higher mortality ratios for colorectal and prostate cancer; overweight women had much higher rates for cancer of the endometrium, gall bladder, and cervix; and also significantly higher rates for ovary and breast cancer.”

Really it takes but a few minutes a day and a truly sound mind to face up to the fact that you are overweight or obese and to really make a change, do something about it! It doesn’t matter how you do it or how long it takes for that matter; the point is to make up your mind, and stick with it! Now a lot of people are under the assumption that in order to lose weight they will have to exercise like a crazy person and eat food that tastes like a cardboard box. You’re sadly mistaken!

There are actually tons of different types of food out there that are good for you, that don’t taste like a box, of course none of these items are cheeseburgers, french fries or shakes, but that’s what got you into this mess to begin with! There are all kinds of websites you can visit for recipes, ideas for food, ideas for exercise and so much more! Really, if you took the time searching around for ways to lose weight you would be really amazed at the different types of products there are out there today between ebooks, groups, support boards, forums, Cd’s, DVDs, pills, vitamins, etc, the sky really is the limit! Help is out there for you, the first step you have to take, is to realize you have a problem and do something about it!

The Effects Of Radiation In The Cause Of Cancer

Cancer is, unfortunately, spreading in the modern society. Nearly all cancer forms are increasing when it comes to incidence, i.e. new cases/year (cf. Hallberg & Johansson 2002a).

It could recently be read in the BBC News that skin cancer is rising in young adults, and Sara Hiom, head of the health information at Cancer Research UK said, when interviewed, that “Non-melanoma cancers are rising at an alarming rate”.

Non-melanoma cancers are rising at an alarming rate
More and more research efforts goes into understanding the molecular mechanisms behind these various progressive cancer forms, and much more money is spent on finding new drugs to treat patients. However, oddly enough, very little is spent on understanding the actual causes for cancer.

Among such possible causative agents, more and more focus is nowadays put on modern gadgets, such as mobile telephones and computers, and their chemical and physical emissions, including flame retardants and electromagnetic non-ionising radiation.

Childhood leukemia was early connected to power-frequent magnetic fields already in the pioneering work by Wertheimer and Leeper (1979), and more recently Scandinavian scientists have identified an increased risk for acoustic neuroma (i.e., a benign tumor of the eighth cranial nerve) in cell phone users, as well as a slightly increased risk of malignant brain tumors such as astrocytoma and meningioma on the same side of the brain as the cell phone was habitually held (Hardell et al. 1999, 2004, 2005; Lonn et al. 2004).

In addition, a clear association between adult cancers and FM radio broadcasting radiation has been noticed, both in time and location (Hallberg & Johansson 2002b, 2004, 2005a). Initial studies on facial nevi indicates that nowadays also young children can have a substantial amount of these.

If it can be shown that radiofrequent radiation is not correlated with child cancers the current focus on low-frequency electromagnetic fields can continue. If there is also a radiofrequent and/or microwave correlation then this must be considered in future research as well as in today’s preventive work.

Most recently, Dr. Djemal Beniashvili and other scientists at the Edith Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel, have demonstrated a possible link between exposure to power-frequent electromagnetic fields and breast cancer in elderly women (Beniashvili et al. 2005).

They compared the breast cancer rates in elderly women from an earlier period (1978-1990) to a more recent period (1991-2003), which has been characterized by a much more extensive use of personal computers (more than 3 hours a day), mobile telephones, TV sets, and other household electrical appliances. They used available medical records extending over a period of 26 years, involving the analysis of more than 200,000 samples.

Most recently a possible link has been demonstrated between exposure to power-frequent electromagnetic fields and breast cancer in elderly women
Among the elderly women who developed breast cancer in the first time frame, 20 percent were regularly exposed to power-frequent fields.

But in the more modern period 51 percent were so exposed, mainly through the use of personal computers. The authors concluded: “There was a statistically significant influence of electromagnetic fields on the formation of all observed epithelial mammary tumours in the second group.”

This represented a more than two-fold increase, which was considered highly significant (cf. Beniashvili et al. 2005).

Of course, many other environmental factors have changed during the period 1978-1990, but increased environmental exposure to power-frequent fields is among the more conspicuous changes to have taken place. Naturally, there are many aspects of this question that remain to be clarified, and, from a scientific point of view, it is far from conclusively settled.

Contraceptive for Birth Control

Oral contraceptives comprise of engineered manifestations of two hormones created characteristically in the body: either progestin alone or estrogen and progestin. Estrogen and progestin control a lady’s menstrual cycle, and the fluctuating levels of these hormones assume a fundamental part in richness.

Taking Birth Control Pills:

There are a couple of distinctive ways you can begin to take contraception pills. Talk about the upsides and downsides of the accompanying routines with your specialist:

you can begin tackling the first day of your period, in which case you won’t require reinforcement anticonception medication. you can begin taking them the Sunday after your period begins, in which case you will require reinforcement anticonception medication for seven days. you can begin taking anticonception medication pills on the day they are endorsed, in which case you will need to verify you’re not pregnant and you will need to utilize reinforcement contraception for the first month. On the off chance that you have a negative pregnancy test and it has been no less than 10 to 11 days since you last engaged in sexual relations, you can be about certain you are not pregnant and it is OK to begin the pill.

Regardless of when you begin taking contraception pills, you will need to begin every new pack on that day of the week that you started your first pack. Case in point, on the off chance that you begin taking your anticonception medication pills on a Monday, you will dependably start tackling a Monday. Remember that contraception pills just work on the off chance that you take them consistently. They don’t gather or gather in your body, which is the reason you must take a pill consistently! You shouldn’t skip pills (intentionally or unintentionally) or quit taking them, regardless of the possibility that you’re not having intercourse regularly. Additionally be mindful that certain solutions, for example, certain anti-infection agents, can make your anticonception medication pills less viable. In the event that you miss a pill for any reason or you’re taking a medicine that could meddle with your conception prevention pills, utilize a reinforcement strategy for whatever remains of your cycle. Simply recollect, don’t stop your contraception pills.

Advantages:

Contraception pills give certain wellbeing profits notwithstanding forestalling pregnancy. Before you begin taking oral contraceptives, examine the wellbeing profits with a health awareness proficient. A percentage of the principle wellbeing profits of anticonception medication pills incorporate an enhanced menstrual cycle (less draining and issues), diminished danger of specific sorts of tumors, security from ovarian sores and an enhanced appearance.

Reactions:

Notwithstanding the way that they are alright for most ladies, Bcps do convey some wellbeing dangers. For instance, on the off chance that you are in excess of 35 and smoke or have particular therapeutic conditions, for example, a history of blood clumps or breast or endometrial tumor, your human services proficient may prompt against taking Bcps. Additionally, anticonception medication pills don’t secure you from sexually transmitted illnesses (Stds), including HIV (human immunodeficiency infection), the infection that causes AIDS, or HPV, the human papillomavirus that can result in cervical cancer.

Therapy For Pancreatic Cancer Continues To Evolve

For the 53,000 Americans who will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year, news on the treatment front is slowly but assuredly improving. This disease, often considered one of the most difficult to treat, has received a great deal of focus in recent years. With an estimated 41,000 deaths annually from this cancer in America, researchers are working hard to enhance treatments and improve outlooks for patients. Neoadjuvant therapy, in fact, has come a long way in recent years.

Neoadjuvant therapy is a first-step treatment meant to improve the chances of the main treatment working. For example, hormone or chemotherapy used shrink a tumor before surgery would be considered neoadjuvant in nature. While commonly used in other cancers, such as prostate and breast, neoadjuvant therapy for pancreatic cancer is just beginning to come into its own with positive results being seen.

Clinicians have found over the past few years that combination chemotherapy can prove quite helpful in assisting pancreatic cancer that is metastatic. Doctors have noted an increased survival rate courtesy of this combination chemo treatment in addition to an improvement in response rates. This therapy is being used before surgery and other interventions in cases where the cancer is potentially resectable or borderline.

Radiation therapy for pancreatic cancer has also been refined over the past few years. Previously, a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy was used. Thanks to advancements on this front, doctors are able to provide a shorter schedule of radiation that involves higher doses. This may or may not be followed by chemo. The shorter, more highly dosed radiation bursts can also reduce exposure to toxicity, clinicians say.

Pancreatic cancer research still has a long way to go before a cure for this disease is found. With an overall survival rate of less than 10 percent at the five-year mark, this form of cancer is considered among the deadliest. Improvements in neoadjuvant therapy are a major step forward, however. Anything that can be done to increase the success rates of main interventions is a big step forward, many researchers say. Since this form of cancer typically presents with no or few symptoms initially, early detection is often difficult. Advances on this front are also in progress with the hope that screening for high-risk patients will become much easier in the near future.

Pancreatic cancer is a relatively rare form of this disease. People who are concerned about their risks for pancreatic cancer should discuss the issue with their healthcare providers. There are ways to screen those most likely to develop this potentially fatal disease.

Is There Any Such Thing As a Safe Sun Tan?

The question about whether any sort of sun tan is safe is one that’s asked constantly and brings a different answer depending on who you ask.

Recently U.S. and British researchers reviewed published studies and noticed that both tans and skin cancer start with changes to the DNA that comes from ultraviolet light. “The signals in the cells that induce sun tanning appear to be DNA damage,” said Dorothy Bennett, a cell biologist at St. George’s University of London. She insists that anything that causes mutations in the cells will increase your risk of cancer. The link between skin cancer and tans that come from the sun or tanning booths is well documented, but the new study presents the idea that even a little bit of exposure of either kind can be dangerous.

The World Health Organization estimates that 60,000 people die each year from exposure to too much ultraviolet light. According to the information provided on the site, “A large number of studies indicate that the risk of malignant melanoma correlates with genetic and personal characteristics, and a person’s UV exposure behaviour.”

Beyond the skin cancer risk, exposure to the sun speeds up aging, cataracts and other eye problems, and may even reduce the effectiveness of the immune system.
Here are some surprising things you might want to know about sun tanning:

– Your tan is your body’s defense against further UV damage.
– The protection of sunscreens depends more than anything on applying them correctly.
– A deep tan only provides an estimated SPF of 4.
– UV exposure is cumulative over a day.
– UV radiation can’t be felt; a hazy sky or water can enhance your exposure.

But don’t we need some sun exposure?

The sun brings us light, heat and UV radiation, which aren’t all bad. UVB rays from the sun help our bodies convert precursor chemicals into vitamin D — giving us about 90% of what we need. Deficiencies of vitamin D are very common, and without enough of this essential nutrient, you’re at risk for developing many serious diseases including osteoporosis and some cancers, infectious disease and heart disease.

“Sun is crucial to your overall physical and mental well-being,” says Dr. Michael F. Holick, author of The UV Advantage, and professor of Medicine, Dermatology, Physiology and Biophysics at Boston University Medical Center. Holick is the expert who uncovered evidence that vitamin D is produced by sun exposure and is necessary to say healthy.

So what to do? Too much sun exposure increases your skin cancer risk, too little puts you at risk for not having the vitamin D your body needs.

Here’s the way to strike a balance:

– Get natural sunlight in the off peak hours — early morning or later in the afternoon. Be sure to apply (and re-apply) any sunscreen you use when you’re out in the sun during peak hours — 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
– Avoid tanning beds and the risks of UV exposure (and DNA damage), especially important for younger women.
– Get that golden, sun tan glow from sunless tanning products that are safe to use (they don’t enter the body) so long as you follow the package directions.

I Am A Big Advocate Of Wearing The Prostate Cancer Ribbon

I was a bit surprised when my co-workers were all asking me what the reason was that I was wearing a light blue ribbon last week, but they all seemed surprised too when I told them that it was a prostate cancer ribbon. I am always frustrated that no one ever seems to know what the blue ribbon is for, even though the pink ribbon for breast cancer is widely known.

Of course I am happy that everyone knows all about breast cancer, but as a survivor of prostate cancer, I think it is just as essential for everyone to have a better understanding of men’s health concerns as well. I wasn’t always so aware of prostate cancer and I didn’t used to wear a prostate cancer ribbon, but I started having symptoms of prostate cancer about three years ago, but did was not educated about them and did not pay any attention to them.

After a while however, the symptoms got too bothersome to ignore, so I went to the doctor where I found out that I was really in trouble and that I needed to start treatments right away. I have never been more scared in my life and the atmosphere around my family was very tense for months and months as I went through the process of healing from this terrible disease.

But I was overcome with joy when the doctors told me that I had beaten the odds and I could barely believe my good fortune. This experience was what prompted me to wear the ribbon during prostate cancer awareness month, and I did a little bit of looking and thought I would wear the ribbon for all the different countries awareness months which were September in the United States, November in Canada and March in the United Kingdom.

I definitely love it when people approach me and ask me about why I wear the ribbon, because it gives me the chance to share my experience with prostate cancer, and help people gain a better understanding of men’s health issues, and what they can do. The first day that I wore the ribbon in to the office was really a fantastic day, and I was delighted that because I shared my story, several of the other older men in the office made appointments with their doctors for a prostate check-up. As it turned out, one of the men had the early stages of cancer, and was extremely grateful for my advice, and I was grateful that he had listened!

Can Sunscreens Be Causing Cancer?

As a chiropractor in San Diego, I see more than just cases of back pain. Patients ask all kinds of health questions. For many years, we have known two things in regards to the sun to be true. First, the sun is bad for you. Therefore, exposure should be limited. Most people don’t know this, but the sun has three types of sun rays, not just two. The first is ultraviolet C light. This is also known as UVC. This ray usually does not reach our planet’s surface and this is good because it is believed only brief exposure to UVC rays is fatal to our body. Next is ultraviolet B radiation. This is also known as UVB rays. These have long been considered the tanning rays of the sun. They are strongest during the summer months when the Earth’s orbit is closest to the Sun. UVB rays are what produce a sun tan to our skin.

For many years, sunblocks and sunscreens only attempted to block UVB because science was unaware of the effects of UVA rays (the third type of sun ray) on the body. UVA was believed to be the safe ray in the 1980s, which spawned the growth and popularity of the artificial sun bed industry – some dermatologists even backed this artificial tanning! But, science now believes UVA rays actually do more damage than UVB rays! UVA rays are not dependant on how far the Earth is from the Sun – so the effects are the same all year round. What’s more, UVA penetrates light clothing and car windshields… even many hats. Over-exposure to the sun has been linked to premature aging and even deadly skin cancer.

This brings us to the second so called truth which is limit exposure to the harmful rays of the sun by using high SPF sunscreens and sunblocks. For years, the sunblock industry has been booming with the promise their products protect you from the sun’s aging and cancerous rays. But, research now says these “truths” may not be so “true.” For example, there is no consensus whether sunscreens prevent skin cancer. According to the Environmental Working Groups’ (ewg.org) finding, “The Food and Drug Administration’s 2007 draft sunscreen safety regulations say: FDA is not aware of data demonstrating that sunscreen use alone helps prevent skin cancer.” (FDA 2007). The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) agrees. The IARC recommends clothing, hats and shade as primary barriers to UV radiation and writes “sunscreens should not be the first choice for skin cancer prevention and should not be used as the sole agent for protection against the sun” (IARC 2001a). Even worse, there is evidence emerging that sunscreen may actually increase the risk of skin cancer!

Researchers conjecture the reason or causes may be lack of UVA protection by most sunscreen for over thirty years, inappropriate usage, staying in the sun longer with sunscreens and some of the ingredients. One large problem is the SPF (sun protection factor) myth. In 2007, the FDA published draft regulations that would ban manufacturers from labeling sunscreens over 50 SPF. The FDA stated that anything over 50 SPF was “inherently misleading.” Even an SPF of 50 can be ambiguous because of the way most people use sunscreen.

In the real world, tests show people apply only one-half to one fifth of the amount used when testing the sunscreen. A person using one-fourth the amount of sunscreen with an SPF of 30 only actually gets an SPF of 2.3. The same person using a sunscreen with SPF 100 ends up with only SPF 3.2.

Then there are also the potential problems with the ingredients found in sunscreens. Retinyl palmitate (a form of Vitamin A also commonly used in sunscreens) may increase the risk of skin cancer. According to Environmental Working Groups, “The publicly available data from FDA’s new study suggest that when used in sun-exposed skin care products, retinyl palmitate and related chemicals may increase skin damage and elevate skin cancer risk instead of protecting the skin.” Also for example, oxybenzone which is a common ingredient, is a known hormone disruptor.

Nearly one in eight sunscreens does not block UVA rays. Many carry the seal of “The Skin Cancer Foundation.” According to the Environmental Working Groups, “The Skin Cancer Foundation (SCF) lends its logo to hundreds of sun protection products. SCF approval is easy, just document that your product has an SPF of at least 15 and provide results of basic tests (for SPF, skin reactions and water and sweat resistance, if such claims are made). Also, according to Environmental Working Groups, 41% of all sunscreens contain retinyl palmitate. All of this may be surprising but what’s even more shocking is that the FDA first issued draft sunscreen regulations in 1978 and last updated the draft in 2007. The regulations are still not final, despite multiple announcements of impending completion. Until the agency formally issues its rules, companies are not required to verify their sunscreens work, including testing for SPF levels, checking waterproof claims or providing UVA protection.

This can all be confusing. If you are, then you are not alone. Here’s something that will make the most of the confusion Disappear. Since sunscreens are probably not as safe as once thought, the best thing to do is stay out of the sun during its peak hours (10:00am – 2:00pm) and whenever possible, wear protective clothing instead of chemicals. Don’t forget, some sun is absolutely necessary for Vitamin D production and proper health. The amount of sun you should get depends on your skin type but you should NEVER burn. Just following some of these simple steps will help avoid damage.
